Gulf coast of Texas

Here are a few photos from a fun afternoon at Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge.  I think this is a White Rumped Sandpiper flying.

Here is a Common Nighthawk lounging on a branch.  It didn't seem to pay any attention to us.
 You wouldn't want to wade in these ponds!

This Killdeer was probably on a nest, right along the road.  Not a very good spot!
 I saw this mourning dove looking biblical with the branch in its mouth. Time for a nest!
 Is he winking at me?
