Tonight was a hot, humid, rainy evening, so I sat out on the gazebo for awhile. I have a nesting cardinal family in one of my hanging pots. I tried not to disturb her, but she didn't appreciate me being nearby. I hope to get some photos of her family as they emerge.

How big I must seem to her! Yet she is fearless and determined to protect her eggs and do what she is called to do.

With all the bad news in the world, it is nice to just sit and enjoy the beauty of this sunflower - a fringe benefit of feeding birds is that sometimes the seeds sprout :)

These Whistling Ducks look so funny up on the wire, I just love them!
